Jason Bartlett hit a homerun at Dodger Stadium as the Dyersville Jurassics
beat the Streator Reds by the count of 3 to 2.
Dyersville had the winning rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs on 2 hits.
Billy Butler got things going when he smashed a solo-shot out of the park.
After an out was recorded, Bartlett stepped up to the plate and he ripped a
solo home run. After another out, Juan Rivera stepped up to the plate and he
was hit by a pitch. Streator made it exciting in the 9th, but they were
unable to push the needed runs across.
Felix Hernandez(8-5) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Hernandez got
help from Joe Nathan who earned his 15th save. Zach Duke(5-10) was the
loser. He served up 3 homeruns in his 8 and 2/3 innings.
Despite losing Ralph Madara was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over
this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one
of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
